Date Set & Signature Project Selected for "Beautification Day"
(Denison, IA) – The fourth annual Crawford County Beautification Day will be taking place on Thursday, April 20th to celebrate "Earth Day". The Women in Business Impact Organization of the Chamber & Development Council of Crawford County (CDC) have established this event to invite every citizen to give back to their community. "Not only is this a great opportunity for volunteerism, it is a wonderful way to unite as a community and take pride in the place that we call home," says Rachel Desy, representative from the Women in Business Impact Organization, "we are very excited to continue this annual event and hope that it grows across the entire county."
The Women in Business Impact Organization (WIBIO) have chosen the Maxwell Park area as their signature project to focus on for the fourth annual event. "Our goal is to make a positive difference in this one area in hopes that the event will grow into something larger in future years," Desy added, "we invite any and all employers, organizations, or individuals to take part in this event."
The day will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. with a kick-off ceremony at Maxwell Park. Volunteers plan to complete several projects throughout the day including, painting the shelter building, picnic tables, and trash cans, bringing some color and art to the park, and cleaning up the entire area. The group is planning to have a community lunch for all the volunteers involved.
"We encourage the surrounding towns in Crawford County to adopt a local project to work on to improve their communities. We also encourage any organization that is not able to participate in the Maxwell Park project to find a way to make a positive impact on their community," Desy added. "We realize that not all businesses are capable of closing down entirely for this day, so we ask everyone to find a small way to participate, whether it is donating a few of your employees to tackle a project or donating money to support one."
"Our goal is to make this event both fun and inspirational," Desy stated, "It gives us a chance to show our appreciation for the wonderful lifestyle that we are blessed to have and make an effort to improve our community in any way we can."
