The Chamber and Development Council (CDC) of Crawford County is offering an extra incentive for those wanting to appeal themselves to employers. From now until September 30, any Crawford County citizen who takes the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) test and scores at the “Platinum” level, will receive a $50 CDC gift card. The NCRC is composed of tests in three areas; applied mathematics, reading for information and the ability to locate information. With the NCRC, a job seeker holds another form of identification that certifies he or she can demonstrate skills and gives a potential employer a way to measure an applicants potential. The test is administered as a proctored test and takes approximately three to four hours to complete.
The more people in Crawford County that take the NCRC, the closer the county becomes to earning the distinction as a Skilled Iowa Community, which gives the community a chance to market itself as a viable location for new businesses.
Contact the CDC at 712-263-5621 to register for the next test session.
