Conveniently located, Denison provides easy access for residents and businesses across the region, with a short 20-minute drive to the County Court House.

Crawford County, located in the west-central portion of Iowa, boasts a captivating history and a landscape shaped by the Southern Iowa Drift Plain. This region is characterized by its ridged terrain topped with loess deposits, creating a picturesque setting. Founded in 1849 by Cornelius Dunham, Crawford County witnessed the arrival of pioneers such as Jesse Mason, Levi Skinner, and Thomas Dobson, who played significant roles in its early development. In January 1851, the county was officially established and named after William Harris Crawford, an influential statesman.
